Butterflies & fluff

Many of these projects are inspired by Gunvor Johansson's beautiful book Heirlooms from Skåne. These engaging weaving techniques have been preserved in Sweden, notably in the late 1800s as a movement for preservation and appreciation was underway.

These set-ups tend to be simple using few heddles, but more time is required for the weaving. Many of the techniques are woven upside down and use butterflies for the pick-up patterns. If you like paying constant attention to details, these projects may be for you. They keep your brain engaged with the patterning every weaving minute.

Our default warp length is 3 meters. If you would like a different length, please contact us to discuss.

These projects are rated more advanced.
